Great news for Melbourne’s West – the Victorian Government will announce a $75 million investment for land acquisition and early works for a new hospital in Melton as part of the soon-to-be-announced budget. Construction will start in 2022.
Congratulations to all involved: Melton City Council, WoMEDA and local MP Steve McGhie, and the Andrews Government. Instrumental in this development was extensive community and advocacy work by the Council and an economic impact study by WoMEDA. The project will create 300-400 construction jobs and 2250 ongoing jobs by 2035.
The Melton Hospital is a key project in the North & West Melbourne City Deal.
