$20 million investment will build 74 new homes

A $20 million investment announced by the State Government will see 74 new social and affordable homes built around Wyndham.

For Victorian’s experiencing or at risk of homelessness, this commitment will deliver 28 one bedroom apartments and 46 two bedroom apartments in Werribee.

The sustainable and cost-effective apartments will be located close to community infrastructure including public transport and the Werribee Employment Precinct.

Unison, who will manage the homes has also contributed $10 million towards the project and has partnered with Jesuit Social Services, Bolton Clarke’s Homeless Person’s Program and the Wyndham Health Housing and Homelessness (H3) Alliance to ensure the future residents will have the support services they need.

Construction of the $30 million project will commence late April, creating 50 new local construction jobs and is anticipated for completion by mid-2022.
