Melton's New Hospital and the 2022/23 Victorian State Budget

There has been exciting news for the Melton Hospital as a part of the 2022/2023 Victoria State Budget.

A total of $2.9 billion will be invested into health infrastructure with over $900 million allocated to the significant Melton Hospital.

The Melton Hospital will include a 24-hour emergency department and intensive care unit, over 100 medical and surgical beds, quality maternity and neonatal services and a range of mental health services across the region.

With the population expected to reach around 500,000 by 2050 in Melton, the new hospital will play a crucial part in supporting a healthy region and providing much needed local jobs during its construction and operational phases.

As a transformative project within the North & West Melbourne City Deal proposal, LeadWest welcomes this valuable commitment and looks forward to its completion which is expected by 2026.
