LeadWest welcomes LIFT funds for more businesses in Melbourne's west

LeadWest welcomes the Victorian Government's support for businesses that will create 74 news jobs in Melbourne's west. 

The Minister for Industry and Employment today announced Local Industry Fund for Transition (LIFT) grants to three companies that will create new job in Melbourne's west.

ALBA Cheese Manufacturing Pty Ltd in Tullamarine will use the grant to purchase a new manufacturing plant to significantly improve productivity at its existing facility and create 15 new jobs, mostly for workers from the automotive sector who will be employed in a range of technical and managerial roles.

Australian Crane and Machinery will use the grant to construct and fit out a new facility in Derrimut, invest in bending, welding and other fabrication machinery and create 48 new jobs.

Encore Tissue (Aust) Pty Ltd in Laverton North will use the grant to purchase and install a new and advanced tissue manufacturing line to boost productivity and create 11 new jobs.

LIFT is part of the Victorian Government's $46.5 million Towards Future Industries: Victoria's Automotive Transition Plan, which is designed to help businesses, workers and communities affected by the closure of automotive manufacturing.
