Western Region Education & Skills Forum 2009
The LeadWest Western Region Education and Skills Forum was held on Friday 23rd October 2009. LeadWest hosted the Forum to focus on and decipher ways key industry leaders, employers, employees, educators and the community can work together to heighten the level of education and skills in the western region and in an effort to secure the next generation's future employment.
Some of the keynote speakers included Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Education, Hon. Julia Gillard; Mr. Wayne Kayler-Thomson, the CEO of VECCI; Ms Michelle Bissett, Senior Industrial Officer for the ACTU; Prof. Elizabeth Harman, Vice-Chancellor Victoria University; and the State Minister for Education, the Hon. Bronwyn Pike.
