University and TAFE

The Victorian Training Guarantee is making vocational education and training more accessible to people who do not hold a post-school qualification, or who want to gain a higher level qualification than they already hold.  More information is provided by Skills Victoria.

With campuses in Melbourne's west at Footscray, Sunshine, St Albans, Newport, Melton and Sunbury, Victoria University  is a multi-sector institution (higher education and TAFE) with excellence in teaching, training, research and scholarship.

Offering short courses, as well as qualifications in vocational education (TAFE) and higher education, Victoria University's learning pathways enable you to move from a certificate course through to an advanced diploma, degree, or postgraduate qualification by coursework or research.

Areas within Melbourne's west are also served by the Kangan Institute (TAFE).  The Essendon campus of the Kangan Institute is approximately 10km from the CBD, in an area recognised as the leading centre for office, retail and business services in Melbourne's inner north-west.
