Registered Training Organisations

A registered training organisation (RTO) is a vocational education organisation that provides students with training that results in qualifications and statements of attainment that are recognised and accepted by industry and other educational institutions throughout Australia.

You can find information on all the RTOs at Training.gov.au, the database on Vocational Education and Training in Australia.  You can also find RTOs on the website of the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority.

There are many training organisations serving the communities of Melbourne's west from locations within the region.

•  Angliss Neighbourhood House Inc, located in Footscray, is a community-based Adult Education Provider.

• Australian - Multicultural Community Services Inc, located in Maidstone, is a charitable organisation, dedicated to providing support, opportunity, access and equity for Australia's multicultural community.

• AMES (Adult Migrant Education Services), located in Footscray, offers vocational courses in Aged Care, Child Services, Business Administration, Information Technology and Advanced English.

• Australian-Croation Community Services, located in Footscray, delivers English and Croation language courses.

• Australian-Polish Community Services, located in Maidstone, provides English language and computer classes.

• CELAS (Spanish Latin American Welfare Centre), located in Footscray,  provides English Classes to the Spanish speaking community and computer courses to the general community.

• Central Australian College, located in Footscray West, offers a range of courses in Automotive and Business Management.

• Djerriwarrh Employment and Education Services, with sites in Melton, Sunshine, St Albans and Sunbury, delivers accredited training and personalised service in a relaxed, friendly environment, with a community minded focus.

• Farnham Street Neighbourhood Learning Centre Inc, located in Flemington, presents a number of courses designed to help people seeking access to education.

• Footscray City College, as well as being a secondary school, provides Vocational Education and Training through Footscray City Films.

• Footscray Community Arts Centre provides a range of pre-accredited and accredited  courses in the creative arts for adults and children.

• South Kingsville Community Centre provides a wide range of providing a wide range of Adult Community and Further Education funded programs for people of all ages and abilities.

• Western Bulldogs SpiritWest Services delivers a variety of industry traineeships in sectors such as retail, business, hospitality, asset maintenance, transport and logistics, and community services.

• Wingate Avenue Community Centre, located in Ascot Vale,  provides a Certificate in Spoken & Written English as well as a range of Adult and Community Further Education funded computer courses.

• Yarraville Community Centre, part of the ThinkWest cluster of community centres, provides migrant English and computer courses through to guitar, conversational Spanish and meditation courses.

• YouthNow specialises in career and transition services for young people.
