Aged Care Services in Melbourne's West
Aged care homes are owned and run by people who are approved by the Australian Government. More information is available here: http://www.myagedcare.gov.au/considering-aged-care-home/
Services for older people are also provided by each of the local governments in Melbourne's west:
- Brimbank City Council
- Hobsons Bay City Council
- Maribyrnong City Council
- Melton Shire Council
- Moonee Valley City Council
- Wyndham City Council
The services that local governments in Melbourne's west provide for older people include in-home support services (such as home care, personal care, meals on wheels and home maintenance services), social support services (such as planned activity groups and recreational programs), and Community Aged Care Packages (CACPs).
The Australian Vietnamese Women's Association provides Community Aged Care Packages targeted at frail older Vietnamese people who wish to continue living in their own homes and participating in the life of their community. These people would otherwise be eligible for at least low residential care.
