The Gordon

--- The Gordon

LeadWest has two types of members: (1) the councils of Melbourne’s west; and (2) other organisations that operate in Melbourne's west.

The Gordon became an 'other member' of LeadWest in February 2013.

As Victoria’s largest regional stand-alone TAFE, The Gordon has been helping people gain real skills for real jobs for 125 years.

Since 1888, when it opened as the Gordon Memorial Technical College, the Gordon Institute of TAFE has been serving the technical and further education needs of communities in the Geelong region.

The Gordon now also serves the needs of students and businesses further afield, including communities in Melbourne’s west.

Thousands choose to study with The Gordon each year via flexible options including on-campus, full and part-time, off campus, online, and in the workplace.

The Gordon proudly delivers a great range of options in vocational ‘hands-on’ training with one of the most comprehensive suites of courses in Victoria.

Students can choose from hundreds of short courses and nationally accredited qualifications across apprenticeships, traineeships, certificates, diplomas, and advanced diplomas, which can lead you to a great career or create a pathway to University.

The Gordon has campuses in Geelong, East Geelong, Waurn Ponds, Colac, Warrnambool and Werribee in Melbourne’s west.

It embraces the partnership model; working with secondary schools, Deakin University, employers, and the community in programs that deliver real benefits.

The Gordon is also forging strong international strategic partnerships, particularly in China and Indonesia.
