Prof Peter Creamer
Professor Peter Creamer became Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Victoria University in 2009 and Vice President (Infrastructure) in 2012. He initially joined Victoria University in 2007 as Pro Vice-Chancellor (Industry and Community). He has a long history of building links between industry and academia and feels passionately about the multiple benefits that flow between the parties in such relationships.
Professor Creamer was recruited from Anglia Ruskin University where he had spent three years as Pro Vice Chancellor (Corporate Development). At Anglia Ruskin Peter had particular responsibility for:
- building business partnerships
- developing research and development activities
- all marketing, international, IT and business engagement activities
Prior to Anglia Ruskin Professor Creamer spent seven years working at the University of Portsmouth focusing on the development of mutually beneficial industry / academia partnerships.
Professor Creamer spent much of his early career working within the aerospace field for companies such as Rolls Royce, Lucas Aerospace and European Gas Turbine Company. Following this, Professor Creamer moved from industry into academia and worked in Singapore for seven years during an era of intensive development of two new major Polytechnics.
Professor Creamer also worked in South Africa as a Director for a medium sized company working during a period of intensive political change.
